Trying to explain the difference between RDJ and Tony Stark to a 7-year-old

The following conversation happened when me and my son were watching an interview with RDJ and Mark Ruffalo about Avengers. (I should note that my child is pretty smart, definitely smart enough to know that movies are not real, that they are stories portrayed by actors.)

Son:(watching RDJ very closely for several seconds) Wait......is Iron Man REAL?

Me:No, it's a movie, just a made up story.

Son:But that guy.......

Me:That's Robert Downey Jr., the actor who PLAYS Tony Stark and Iron Man in the movies.

Son:But......that's HIM.

Me:That's the ACTOR. Tony Stark is just a character.

Son:But....

Me:I know. He just does a really good job.
